چکیده

In order to analyze the main factors controlling shale gas accumulation and predict potential zone for exploration, heterogeneous characteristics of source rock reservoir Wufeng-Longmaxi Formation in Sichuan Basin were discussed detail, based on data petrology, sedimentology, physical properties content. On this basis, effect coupling between generation reservation has been analyzed. The black divided into 5 types lithofacies, i.e., carbonaceous siliceous shale, argillaceous composite silty 4 sedimentary microfacies, deep shelf, shallow shelf. total organic carbon (TOC) content ranged from 0.5% 6.0% (mean 2.54%), which gradually decreased vertically bottom top was controlled by oxygen water. Most matter sapropel a high-over thermal maturity. characterized low porosity permeability. Pore mainly <10 nm pores, especially lower member Longmaxi Formation. size pores increased sharply upper volumes methane adsorption 1.431 m3/t 3.719 m3/t, contents 0.44 5.19 both upwards. Shale with high TOC siliceous/argillaceous shelf is considered have significant hydrocarbon storage capacity preservation, providing favorable conditions gas.

Determination of Time of Oil Cracking into Gas in Weiyuan Paleo-Oil Pool in Sichuan Basin, South China

Weiyuan gas field, located in the Sichuan basin of south China, is a large marine gas field with the oldest reservoir (the Sinian sequences) in south China. The hydrocarbon origin of the gas field has long been debated by petroleum geologists. Recently, it was recognized that a paleo-oil pool maybe the significant contributor to the gas field. Consequently, when the paleo-oil pool had been crac...

Review of Well Logs and Petrophysical Approaches for Shale Gas in Sichuan Basin, China

China has vast reserves of shale gas. Currently, shale gas is one of the focuses of the unconventional reservoir. Well logs play an import role in shale gas production, and it is the bridge connecting geology, geophysics and petroleum engineering. In the exploration stage, well logs are used to identify lithology, evaluate the parameters of mineral types and compositions, total organic carbon (...

Source of Cement in the Great Oolite Reservoir, Storrington Oil Field, Weald Basin, South of England

The source of cement in oilfields is critical to the prediction of the distribution of cements in the reservoirs and also prediction of reservoir quality. The source of mineral forming cements has been determined for the Storrington oolitic carbonate reservoir (Middle Jurassic Great Oolite Formation, Weald Basin, onshore UK) using a combination of petrography, electron microscopy, fluid inclusi...

Comparison of Three Key Marine Shale Reservoirs in the Southeastern Margin of the Sichuan Basin, SW China

This study performs a comprehensive comparison of three key marine shale reservoirs in the southeastern margin of the Sichuan Basin, and explains why commercial gas production was only achieved in the Lower Silurian Longmaxi (LSL) and Upper Ordovician Wufeng (UOW) formations, but not in the Lower Cambrian Niutitang (LCN) formation. The experimental methods included in situ gas content and gas c...
